Treat yourself to a breakfast worthy of Royalty this Saturday, as we share the steps to make Princess Meghan’s favourite smoothie bowl.

Ever wondered what a Royal eats for breakfast? We’ve heard that a vegan smoothie bowl, topped with banana and berries, is Meghan Markle’s go-to. If you’d like to give yourself the royal treatment before watching her wed Prince Harry this Saturday, follow the recipe below:

Vegetarian | Dairy free | Gluten free

For the smoothie:
100g frozen açaí (we used 1 x Sambazon Organic Acai Original Blend Smoothie Pack, £4/4 packs, Ocado – see tip below)
80ml almond milk
½ banana
Handful frozen berries

For the topping:
½ banana, sliced
1 or 2 strawberries, halved
Handful blueberries
Handful raspberries
Handful coconut flakes
1tsp manuka honey
1tbsp bee pollen, optional (if you’ve never used this before, we recommend you leave it out as some people may have an allergic reaction)

1. In a blender, combine the frozen açaí with ½ banana and a handful of frozen berries.
2. Blend, adding the almond milk, a splash at a time, until you have a thick, smooth consistency. Pour into your favourite bowl.
3. For the topping, arranged the sliced ½ banana over the smoothie. Add the strawberries, blueberries and raspberries, then sprinkle over the coconut flakes and drizzle with the honey.
4. Finish with a sprinkle of bee pollen, if using.

HFG tip: If you can’t find açaí, any frozen berry mix will work well.
