Date and walnut porridge

  • 80g jumbo oats
  • 50g dried dates, chopped
  • 20g walnuts, chopped
  • 1 banana, sliced


  1. Put the oats, dates and walnuts in a medium pan with 570ml water. Bring to the boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 6–7 min, stirring now and then. Remove from the heat and stand for 1 min.
  2. Divide the porridge between 2 bowls, then serve topped with the banana slices.
