Deliciously Ella’s roasted almond butter

It’s amazing how much creamier homemade almond butter is. Try making your own before adding to smoothies or salad dressings.

Serves 1 jar

Prep Time 15min

Cooking Time 10min

  • 300g blanched almonds
  • Pinch sea salt

  1. Heat the oven to 200°C/fan 180°C /gas 6.
  2. Put the almonds on a baking tray and cook in the oven for 10 min until golden. Remove and leave to cool to room temperature.
  3. Once the almonds have cooled, put them in a food processor and blend for around 15 min until a smooth mixture forms, adding in the salt in the last few minutes. You really do need a food processor to make this – I don’t recommend using a blender as it could break.

TIP: It always takes longer than you think to reach that smooth texture, so be patient with it! Once ready, store in an airtight container in the fridge for 1-2 weeks.
