Greens with toasted nuts and orange

Serve these quick-cook greens with toasted nuts at your next dinner party. Hazelnuts add a delicious crunch, but almonds work just as well here.

  • 250g green beans
  • 230g broccoli florets
  • 2tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • Zest and juice of 1 orange
  • 40g toasted hazelnuts


  1. Bring a pan of water to the boil over a high heat. Add the green beans and bring rapidly back to the boil, then add the broccoli florets and return to the boil. Simmer for 1–2 min until the vegetables are just tender. Drain, rinse briefly under cold water and tip them into a warm serving dish.
  2. Mix together the olive oil, orange zest and juice and toasted hazelnuts, then drizzle over the green beans and broccoli. Season with salt and ½tsp freshly ground black pepper and serve with the Mediterranean chicken and fruity couscous.
